While the election isn’t officially over, Dennis’s campaign has come to an end. Brian Knudsen won the primaries by a landslide and will continue as our councilman for the upcoming term.
Although many in our neighborhood were hoping for a councilman who shared our concerns, particularly about the impact of Sage Collegiate Public Charter School, perhaps Mr. Knudsen is ultimately a better choice for our city and ward than Dennis would have been.
As your webmistress and someone who is still technically married to Dennis Chairez, though we are separated, I feel it’s important to use this platform to share my story. I’ve come to understand his true character, and I believe it’s necessary for the truth to come out. By sharing my experience, I hope to help others who might be going through something similar.
For context, I’d like to include one of the protection order applications I filed with family court after Dennis assaulted a close friend of mine, in public, in front of our entire Toastmaster’s Club, in the middle of a meeting! Unfortunately, because he assaulted my friend, not me, the application was denied. Additionally, since I didn’t personally witness Dennis cutting the power to my home, ripping out plants from my garden, or destroying property in my yard while I was away, I couldn’t prove it was him—despite having video evidence of him engaging in similar destructive behavior several months prior, demonstrating a clear pattern of aggression.
As you go through the document, you’ll also read about other violent incidents involving Dennis, including (TRIGGER WARNING) animal abuse. Despite what I felt was sufficient evidence, the justice system has allowed Dennis to continue harassing and stalking me.
Now, I’m sharing this publicly because people deserve to know the true character of Dennis Chairez, former Las Vegas Ward 1 candidate. I personally submitted this application and stand by every claim I’ve made in the document.
